Impacted Mappings
Mapping may contains sources, targets transformations and mapplets. Sometimes the transformations are reusable.
Generally mappings will be impacted if any of the components in the mapping changed such as sources or targets. Sources or Targets are the child's of the mapping. The same source and target can be used in multiple mappings.

There are two mappings A and B using same target. There is a change came in mapping A. For this reason you changed target structure i.e re imported. You have done changes in the mapping A after you imported. But you have not touched the mapping B. In this case mapping B will be impacted. The impacted mapping you can see with yellow color triangle symbol. What you need to do is check out the mapping B and validate the mapping and then save. Then that symbol will disappeared. Impacted Sessions
When ever there is a change in the mapping, first apply the changes and we validate it. Important thing is need to refresh the session also. If you forget to refresh the session and when you try to fetch the session automatically the session will be impacted. First you need to check out the session and validate or double click on the session to get the latest changes into the session level and then save it.

Impacted Workflows
When you do the changes for session under task developer tool for existing session in the workflow, if you don't validate the workflow after session check in, the workflow will be in impacted state. You need to check out the workflow validate and then check in again.
